We visited the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market on our day off. Whoever dreamed this place up had fat Americans in mind. You get in a small flat bottom boat and you float past Thai ladies selling their wares. You don't even have to walk, you just sit on your a** and the stuff comes to you!

See something you just gotta have?

Flag the vendor down and she will draw your boat near with a bamboo hook. Point at what you want (grunt for that matter). Haggle for a few seconds and that void in your soul has now been filled with a teak elephant or a bamboo hat (like Scooter).
